Renowned international broadcaster and DAZN Boxing lead presenter Ade Oladipo has officially aligned with Kalakoda Promotions, as the organisation announces a multi-year expansion deal valued at Sh1 billion, signalling a major leap forward for professional boxing in Kenya and across Africa.

The partnership will deliver 11 Friday Fight Nights throughout 2026, broadcast regionally and internationally, before expanding to 12 monthly events from 2027 onwards; a move that positions the series among the most consistent boxing formats globally.

In parallel, Kalakoda will launch Young Lions, a weekly grassroots fight night aimed at developing Kenya’s next generation of boxing talent. The initiative will roll out over 60 confirmed shows across the country this year, significantly increasing opportunities for emerging fighters to compete and gain exposure.

The next Friday Fight Night is scheduled for Friday, 27 February at Masshouse, Nairobi, continuing the momentum from Kalakoda’s successful East African debut last year.

Oladipo’s involvement is being viewed as a major milestone for African boxing. Having hosted and covered some of the world’s biggest fights; including Fury vs Usyk and Joshua vs Dubois; he brings global credibility, elite-level experience and international visibility to the region.

“I’ve worked on some of the biggest nights in boxing, in front of crowds of up to 90,000 people,” Oladipo said. “The atmosphere in Nairobi during Kalakoda’s last event was extraordinary. It truly showcased the passion for boxing in Africa.”

The Friday Fight Nights format features high-level international cards, bringing together fighters from the UK and across Africa alongside top Kenyan professionals. By blending established names, rising prospects and world-class production, the series aims to elevate East African boxing onto the global stage.

“The potential in Africa is immense,” Oladipo added. “With the right support and opportunities, African fighters can redefine the global boxing landscape.”

For fighters across the continent, the platform offers a rare promise: regular competition, global broadcast exposure and a clear pathway to international rankings and title contention.

Industry insiders increasingly see Kalakoda as a launchpad for both emerging regional talent and established fighters chasing global recognition.

Kenya Professional Boxing Commission president Reuben Ndolo welcomed the long-term investment, saying it would accelerate the professionalisation and internationalisation of Kenyan boxing.

Former WBC world champion Fatuma Zarika, who won at the Friday Fight Nights debut, praised the platform’s production quality and home support, calling the experience “on par with major U.S. shows.”
