The nominations for the 98th Academy Awards were announced on January 22 by actors Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman, marking a historic moment for the Oscars with the introduction of a new competitive category: Best casting.
The new award will recognise casting directors for their role in selecting performers who bring films to life. Although more than 200 films were considered, only a select few made the final nominations list.
The winners will be unveiled during the main ceremony on Sunday, March 15, with popular comedian Conan O’Brien set to host the event.
