VIDEOS: Kenyan fans go wild after Man United’s 3–2 win over Arsenal

Following Manchester United’s dramatic 3–2 victory over Arsenal in a highly anticipated clash, celebrations erupted across several parts of the country, with fans taking to the streets and entertainment venues to mark the win.

Along Thika Road, crowds of Manchester United supporters, dressed in the club’s red jerseys, flooded the highway in wild celebrations.

The fans could be heard chanting “Ua! Ua!” a slang expression meaning “kill,” used figuratively to signify their team’s triumph over Arsenal.

Thika Road was not the only hotspot. Numerous entertainment joints were packed to capacity ahead of the match, with cheers and jeers from both Arsenal and Manchester United fans echoing throughout the night.

Celebrations also spread beyond Nairobi. In Kisii, Manchester United fans marked the victory in their own style.

In a video seen by TNX Africa, supporters were captured flooding the streets, singing and dancing to Kisii songs in jubilation.

The viral videos sparked lively reactions on social media, with Kenyans poking fun at their rivals.

Renowned DJ Joe Mfalme commented on Instagram, “Watu wa Arsenali wanafikiria ni AI.” Another user, Akh Mali, added, “Manchester United kupigwa saa hii labda ni picha… sema top 4.”

Instagram user Black Beatle wrote, “Bana huku Juja kila mahali ni red nikama tuko Valentine. GGMU siku zote.”

The build-up to the match had also drawn in popular personalities, some of whom made bold pledges ahead of kickoff.

Media personality Oga Obinna shared a screenshot alleging he had placed a Sh1 million bet backing Arsenal to beat Manchester United, despite being a known United supporter.

He explained that he had been advised to place the bet in hopes of winning Sh1.6 million.

However, the gamble backfired when Manchester United clinched the win.

A video shared online showed Obinna watching the match at a club, visibly shocked and disappointed as United scored the decisive goal.

After the game, the Obinna Show host posted a humorous photo of himself looking stunned and joked on Facebook, “Mtu anaweza cashout.”

Former comedian Eric Omondi also joined the pre-match theatrics, promising to shave his hair if Manchester United lost to Arsenal.

He had predicted a 2–1 win for United at the Emirates. Speaking at an event, Omondi offered an Arsenal fan Sh75,000 to remove his jersey, but the fan declined.

“Lakini nimekuheshimu, umekataa Sh75,000. You are a true Arsenal fan,” Omondi said.

The fan responded confidently, “Uzuri mmesikia, tukishinda kesho namtafuta namnyoa.”
