Kensington Palace has confirmed that Prince William and Princess Catherine are “deeply worried” by the latest revelations surrounding Jeffrey Epstein.
A spokesperson who spoke to journalists in Riyadh said the couple remains focused on the victims affected by the information recently released in the Epstein files by the U.S. Department of Justice.
“I can confirm that the Prince and Princess of Wales have been deeply concerned by the continued revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the Palace stated on Monday, February 9, just ahead of Prince William’s three-day trip to Saudi Arabia.
The statement came on Monday ahead of Prince William’s three-day trip to Saudi Arabia, even as the Royal Family continues to manage the fallout from the scandal involving King Charles III’s brother, former Prince Andrew.
In October 2025, King Charles officially stripped Andrew of all royal titles following a series of troubling revelations about his relationship with Epstein.
Andrew, 65, no longer uses any royal honours and is now referred to simply as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The recently released documents mention high-profile figures including Bill Gates, Elon Musk, former President Donald Trump, and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, emphasising that appearing in these legal documents does not imply criminal activity.
According to the BBC, the Epstein files reveal that Andrew shared sensitive details with Epstein about his work as a UK trade representative. On October 7, 2010, Andrew emailed Epstein his official travel plans to Singapore, Vietnam, China, and Hong Kong.
His trips included meetings with individuals who had business ties to Epstein. After returning on November 30, Andrew received official reports from his assistant, which he forwarded to Epstein just five minutes later.
These emails raise questions about the extent of Epstein’s influence over Andrew’s official duties at the time. In a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew said he met Epstein in New York in December 2010 to end their friendship.
However, the newly released documents contradict this timeline: on Christmas Eve 2010, Andrew sent Epstein information on government business and investment plans in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, even though Epstein was already a convicted sex offender.
Sir Vince Cable, who was UK business secretary at the time, commented on the revelations:
“I was unaware of Andrew… sharing information about investment opportunities [in Afghanistan] before; this is the first I’ve heard of it.”
Adding to the controversy, the DOJ files included images of Andrew in a compromising position with a woman whose face was redacted, further complicating his case.
