Kasarani MP Ronald Karauri has donated Sh2 million to support the upcoming boxing match between Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer.
Digital creator Oga Obinna personally collected the cash from the MP’s office after a deadline set for blogger Edgar Obare expired without any content being posted.
The donation follows a high-profile public challenge regarding sexual allegations circulated by Obare, which Karauri dismissed as false, daring the blogger to produce unedited video evidence.
The lawmaker had pledged Sh10 million if the proof was provided, but outlined a different plan for the funds if the blogger failed.
“The money I have for you is Sh10 million. Share the video by 5 pm. Don’t put AI, so that we can verify those things,” Karauri previously stated.
“Since I know that video does not exist, what I’ll do with this money if you are unable to produce it, Sh8 million will go to my foundation and then Sh2 million I’ll give it to the Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer fight.”
When the deadline passed, Obinna visited the MP’s office to confirm that the blogger had not delivered.
“Time has elapsed, and he has not posted the video,” Obinna noted.
In response, Karauri handed over the cash, telling him, “You are a lucky man, you will walk away with Sh2 million.”
During the exchange, Obinna playfully turned his back and told the MP, “Weka pesa,” as the money was placed on him.
Karauri clarified that Sh1 million would go toward purchasing match tickets for Kasarani constituents, while the remaining Sh1 million would be set aside as prize money for the highly anticipated fight.
