Nigerian music superstar Tiwatope Omolara Savage, popularly known as Tiwa Savage, has officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, marking her entry into global philanthropy.

The 46-year-old singer announced the foundation on Instagram, describing it as a platform to support emerging African talent with professional resources and elite training often out of reach for underprivileged youth.

“A new initiative dedicated to empowering emerging African creatives through access, mentorship and world-class music education,” she wrote.

Savage also revealed a landmark partnership with her alma mater, the prestigious Berklee College of Music. The flagship program, titled Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program, is inspired by her journey from a scholarship student at Berklee in 2007 to the reigning Queen of Afrobeats.

“The program is made for Africa’s budding talent to gain hands-on experience in the music world and fully grasp the opportunities available to them on and off the stage. Over four days, participants will be given the opportunity and tools to shape the future of music across the continent,” she said on Instagram.

The four-day intensive workshop is scheduled for April 23–26, 2026, in Lagos.

It will welcome 100 selected participants, including artists, producers, and songwriters aged 18 and older, who will attend tuition-free sessions led by Berklee faculty and Savage herself as Artistic Advisor.

The curriculum goes beyond vocal performance, covering songwriting, music production, and the technical business of music.

In recent discussions with Forbes Africa, Savage highlighted systemic barriers she witnessed over two decades in the industry, including a lack of formal music education and unequal access to international networks.

Her collaboration with Berklee College of Music seeks to give participants world-class exposure, with top-performing students potentially earning scholarships to Berklee’s Boston campus.
