Detectives are pursuing suspects linked to the murder of a 60-year-old man whose body was found in his house in Igonga area, Kisii County.

The body of Harun Mokaya was discovered inside the house on the morning of February 26. Police said he may have been killed elsewhere and the body taken to the house.

Fresh blood was oozing from his right ear. He had injuries on both legs and marks of strangulation on the neck.

Police said the motive of the killing had not been established. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. The hunt for the suspects continued on Friday, police said.

In Kolowa, Baringo County, a man was stabbed to death during a fight with his brother over a land dispute.

Police said Poroo Kariwo was stabbed in the ribs during the incident and died at their mother’s homestead. The family told police the two had argued over a piece of land before the confrontation escalated into a fight.

According to police, the suspect fled the scene shortly after the incident on the morning of February 26. The body was taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Police said investigations into the incidents are ongoing.

Elsewhere in Gatunga, Tharaka Nithi County, a man died after he was injured at a construction site.

Police said Abel Njeru, 32, was at a construction site in the local shopping centre when he sustained an injury from a grinder he was using to trim timber.

He suffered a deep cut on the left leg and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

In Khwisero, Kakamega County, a man was seriously injured after climbing onto an electricity transformer on February 25.

Police said he sustained severe burns after coming into contact with high voltage power and was thrown to the ground. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said the matter is under investigation.
