Eric Omondi embarks on five-day 458km walk to Busia in charity drive

Comedian Eric Omondi has embarked on a five-day charity walk covering 458 kilometres from Nairobi to Busia to raise funds for the Sisi kwa Sisi Foundation and Rescue Centre.

He was joined by prominent figures, including short-distance sprinter Ferdinand Omanyala, Mugithi singer Samidoh, and media personality Azziad Nasenya.

Omondi introduced a unique fundraising concept, allowing Kenyans to “buy a kilometre” for KSh 20,000, meaning he would not physically walk that sponsored kilometre.

“We are raising money to finish the Sisi kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre. You can buy a kilometre for KSh 20,000, meaning I will not have to walk that kilometre. You can even buy a step for KSh 10, and we shall count those steps,” he said.

“With the help of God and Kenyans, we are going to deliver. We usually say God’s will, God’s bill. If it is His will, He will pay the bill. Pray for us and walk with us. God bless you,” he added.

Eric shared that his route will take him through Limuru, Naivasha, Nakuru, Kisumu, and Siaya before ending at the Busia border.

This is not Omondi’s first charity walk.

On February 11, 2026, he began what he called the “walk of love,” covering 486 kilometres from Nairobi to Mombasa over four days, finishing on Valentine’s Day.

The Sisi kwa Sisi Foundation, which Eric leads, continues to support Kenyans in vulnerable situations, including those living in extreme poverty, victims of police brutality, and bereaved families.

Recently, Omondi and his Team Sisi kwa Sisi won multiple humanitarian awards in recognition of the movement’s impact on community support.
