The Tanzanian government has stepped in to mediate a bitter dispute between Bongo Flava stars Mac Voice and Rayvanny after their fallout spilled into the public arena.

The meeting was convened by Hamis Mwinjuma; Tanzania’s Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports; who is also widely known in the music industry as the rapper Mwana FA.

According to the Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports (Tanzania), the talks were requested by Mac Voice, who sought government intervention over a long-running conflict with his former mentor Rayvanny, the CEO of Next Level Music (NLM).

The mediation meeting was held at the ministry’s offices located at the National Stadium.

At the centre of the dispute are allegations by Mac Voice that Rayvanny failed to honour contractual agreements and did not properly compensate him for his musical contributions during his time under the label.

The 27-year-old singer claims the financial disagreements and personal tensions have strained their professional relationship for nearly two years before finally spilling into the public eye earlier this month.

During the meeting, Mwana FA confirmed that the government had launched an investigation into the claims and would gather facts from both parties before reaching a conclusion.

He emphasized that the government has a duty to protect the rights and welfare of artists within the country’s growing creative sector, noting that contracts in the music industry must be clear and fair to both artists and record labels.

Mac Voice welcomed the intervention, thanking the deputy minister for hearing his concerns and pledging to work with government officials to ensure the dispute is resolved.
