VIDEO: Boda-boda rider, woman clash in violent fight over alleged payment

Footage of a violent brawl between a motorcycle rider and a female customer has triggered heated reactions across social media.

In the viral video seen by TNX Africa, a group of men were trying to separate a man in an orange reflector jacket and a young woman outside an apartment complex.

In an attempt to calm him, the woman, wearing a hanging black jacket and blue shorts, picked up a brick from the grassy area and threw it at the rider, escalating the fight.

Bystanders who had tried to intervene quickly stepped back as the man grabbed her by the hair and attacked her violently, leaving onlookers in shock.

At one point, a young man in a red cardigan ran to help the woman by tackling the rider to the ground, but was stopped by others nearby.

The video then shows the rider continuing to manhandle the woman, with the outcome still unknown.

Social media reports suggest the disagreement began over payment issues, though the claims are yet to be verified.

Kenyans reacted strongly online. Some condemned the rider for attacking the woman, while others argued she was wrong for throwing the stone.

On X, MkenyaM true wrote, “This is so unfortunate. Even if there’s a dispute over a story or money, a man should never hit a woman. It’s sad to see men just watching that boda guy akipiga huyo mwanamke. They could have helped pay if it wasn’t enough. Let’s not normalize violence of any kind.”

Another user, Agenda KE, said, “But is it okay for her to strike and stone him? Equal rights mean equal responsibilities and consequences, especially for those who start fights. Nobody should throw stones at anyone, regardless of gender.”

User Flourish Wild added, “Anger management is so important. Scenes like this are never pleasant.”
