Esther Musila fires back at trolls over Guardian Angel amid inheritance row

Esther Musila, the 54-year-old wife of Kenyan gospel singer Guardian Angel, has hit back at online critics claiming her husband is with her for money, amid a heated family inheritance dispute.

“Leave my husband alone. Everyone in my circle knows he has earned everything he has worked for. He has no inheritance waiting for him. So all of you busybodies who are nonsensical and have nothing going on in your lives, why do you keep dragging him into matters that are not true?” Musila said in a video now circulating on social media.

“I will defend and protect my husband any day, any time. He is not the one to come here and address issues, but I am the mouthy one, so I will defend him,” she added.

The drama erupted after stories of her being reportedly disinherited by a court ruling in a suit filed by one of her sons.

“My husband has earned everything he has today. I will be here to protect him any day,” Esther Musila says as she defends musician Guardian Angel after several Kenyans claimed he is the reason she is in court with her son over inheritance! pic.twitter.com/y9eOgHDbd4

Online trolls have since revived age-gap criticism of her relationship with the younger artist, while others questioned his intentions.

In a recent unified family statement, Musila’s children came out in her defence, dismissing claims of a feud.

“There’s no war, just a normal legal process we had agreed on as a family,” they posted on Instagram.

In Kenya, a widow has a legal right to inherit her deceased husband’s property under the Law of Succession Act (Cap 160), which provides for a life interest in the matrimonial home and household chattels.

Recent court rulings have affirmed that widows retain these rights even if they remarry, in line with the 2010 Constitution’s equality provisions.
