Kenyan-American worship leader Naomi Kihuha has released Thakame, the second single from her forthcoming album Twaria Muoyo.

The title, meaning “blood” in Kikuyu, reflects the redemptive power of Jesus’ blood, which Naomi says brings salvation, healing, and restoration to believers.

“It’s both a declaration of truth and an invitation to live in the fullness of what Christ has already made available,” she explains.

Naomi recently shared the stage with global gospel artist Sinach, an experience she describes as transformative. “What stood out was her consistency, regardless of platform.

Worship leadership is not about perfection or audience size, but about surrender and helping people encounter God,” Naomi says.

That lesson has shaped her own ministry, whether leading worship in a packed auditorium or a small church gathering.

Her first live recording, Ndaririkana, earned Video of the Year at the Miruri Awards, giving Naomi confidence to trust in her calling.

Since relocating to the United States in 2017, she has continued leading worship within Kenyan church contexts, where the style of worship feels familiar.

Despite the challenges of balancing practice and ministry in a busy environment, she remains committed to guiding others in worship.

Her upcoming album, Twaria Muoyo, which translates as “we speak life,” draws inspiration from Ezekiel 37, the vision of dry bones coming to life.

“It speaks about the salvation and healing power found in the blood of Jesus,” Naomi shares.

The project explores themes of revival, restoration, and the power of Christ’s blood. Naomi hopes the album will encourage listeners to believe, speak life, and experience God personally.

As she prepares to release her album, she encourages listeners to believe again, even in seasons that feel dry. “I want people to encounter God in a real way,” she says.

“To be reminded of the power of the blood of Jesus, and to speak life over their own situations.”
