Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido is set to make his long-awaited debut at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
He will be the only Nigerian performer at the 2026 edition of the festival, scheduled across two weekends, April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19.
Davido was initially scheduled to perform at Coachella in 2019 but missed the opportunity due to visa issues. His upcoming appearance is expected to deliver a high-energy, polished set that showcases both his signature sound and strong cultural identity, further amplifying Afrobeats on the global stage.
He joins a growing list of Nigerian acts that have performed at Coachella, including Seun Kuti alongside Egypt 80, Burna Boy, and Mr Eazi.

In 2024, Tems became the first Nigerian female act to perform at the festival, delivering a standout set that featured surprise appearances by Wizkid and Justin Bieber for their first live performance of “Essence.”
Davido’s debut marks another milestone in Nigeria’s growing presence at Coachella.
The Grammy-nominated artist has hinted that the performance could signal the start of a new chapter in his career, though he has not provided further details beyond a brief post on X.
More broadly, the moment underscores the rising global influence of Afrobeats. In recent years, artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems have pushed the genre to international audiences, with Davido’s Coachella debut further cementing its place in mainstream music.
Founded in 1999, Coachella is regarded as one of the world’s premier music events, having hosted global stars such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Frank Ocean, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Kanye West, and Eminem.
The festival has also delivered standout moments, including Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s set featuring a hologram of Tupac Shakur.
Headliners for the 2026 lineup include Sabrina Carpenter, Karol G, Anyma, and Justin Bieber.
