A pastor has stirred controversy after publicly criticising Kenyan lawmakers, calling Members of Parliament “not pure and holy” and describing them as “vultures and hyenas.”
In a video circulating online, the unidentified pastor addressed a Kenyan congregation on the need for change and the fight against corruption.
“Dedicating a nation will not help. There has to be national repentance in Kenya. Can you say Amen? This nation is corrupt,” he said. A congregant responded, “Yes! Preach it!”
The pastor recounted visits to several African countries and meetings with heads of state.
“I can show you pictures of me going from one President to another for a solid twenty minutes,” he said. Citing Burundi as an example, he added, “I have shared in the parliament in Burundi years ago. I gave a word to the country and they invited me to come and share it.”

He claimed divine insight into lawmakers’ conduct.
“When I was in parliament, God started showing me the sins of Members of Parliament. I looked at them and started pointing out their sins. The parliament was dead silent,” he said, alleging that five MPs had committed murder in Burundi.
Turning to Kenya, he asked, “I wonder if I go to the Kenyan parliament, what would happen? You are not pure and holy. They are vultures and hyenas in parliament,” warning that parliaments worldwide are “nothing more than organised crime” if they fail to reflect the image of God.
Criticising corrupt leaders, he added, “They subjugate and manipulate the people. They promise equality and wealth sharing, but when in power, they share the wealth with their cronies, not the people.”
The remarks sparked online debate, reflecting public frustration with governance and accountability in Kenya.
On X, Devan wrote, “Hii maneno ya not knowing the characters vying for the MP seat in your constituency then just blindly voting in someone from a certain party is foolishness that should be buried. If we have MPs that work for us, we don’t need to wait 5 years to remove incompetence.”
Another user, Ian, commented, “If we have eyes to see we’ll realize he is speaking truth.”
