Ye, formerly Kanye West, made an unannounced visit to the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Beverly Hills as part of a broader effort to address past antisemitic remarks.
The rapper visited the centre on Monday evening and remained inside for about 90 minutes before leaving abruptly without explaining his presence, according to TMZ.
Eyewitness accounts cited in reports said he declined to respond to reporters as he departed.
No official statement has been issued, but the timing has fuelled renewed online discussion amid his broader attempts at reconciliation and public accountability.
In January, Ye published a full-page statement in The Wall Street Journal reflecting on past behaviour: “I lost touch with reality. Things got worse the longer I ignored the problem. I said and did things I deeply regret. Some of the people I love the most, I treated the worst. You endured fear, confusion, humiliation, and the exhaustion of trying to have someone who was, at times, unrecognizable,” he said.
His efforts to stage international performances have also faced setbacks, including reported entry denial in the United Kingdom ahead of a planned Wireless Festival appearance.
In response, he wrote to the Jewish community and supporters: “To Those I’ve Hurt: I’ve been following the conversation around Wireless and want to address it directly. My only goal is to come to London and present a show of change, bringing unity, peace, and love through my music.”
He addded, “I know words aren’t enough I’ll have to show change through my actions. If you’re open, I’m here. With Love, Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.”
In France, Ye spoke with a measured tone, acknowledging that the path to redemption is not a sprint. He noted that he understands it takes time for people to recognise the sincerity of his commitment to make amends.
While he stated that he takes full responsibility for his actions, he expressed a desire to keep his supporters out of the crossfire, emphasizing that his fans are everything to him.
Closing on a characteristically ambitious note, he shared that he is looking forward to his next performances, telling his audience he would see them at the top of the globe.
