Last season’s Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Women’s National League silver medallists, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), beat Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) at Nyayo Gymnasium.

Defending champions Kenya Pipeline and former holders KCB Bank also had a fruitful day out, winning their respective matches. The sleuths didn’t have any trouble dismissing the soldiers as they eased to victory in straight sets of 25-13, 25-16, and 25-15 to register their sixth win of the 2025-2026 regular season.

The 2026 continental club championship silver medallists, KCB Bank, who are looking to recapture the title they lost to Kenya Pipeline last season, made light work of Kenyatta University students 3-0 (25-11, 25-7, 25-11) to make five wins out of six. On Thursday, the bankers had beaten Postbank 3-1 to move to fourth place.

Postbank, who had gone into their clash against KCB on top of the table, suffered their second defeat after going down 3-1 to Pipeline.

Despite settling in the match first and taking the opening set 25-20, they failed to keep the momentum, allowing the Oilers, who are the only unbeaten side, to control the game in sets of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-19.

In the last women’s encounter, Kenya Army recovered from a slow start to secure a 3-1 (14-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-16) victory against Nairobi Prisons.

In the men’s second tier, Desert Warriors recovered from Thursday’s defeat to Simlaw Seeds to see off University of Nairobi (UoN) 3-1. They rallied from a set down to dominate the students and chalk their fifth win. UoN was more tactical in the first set, minimising errors and capitalising on Warriors’ slip-ups to take a 1-0 lead in 25-19.

Determined not to fall for a second in hours, the Warriors regrouped to win the second set 25-20 to level the score 1-1. They remained dominant to win the third and fourth sets 25-16 and 25-22 to bag three points.

It was a bad day in the office for the students as Kenyatta University fell at the hands of the Kenya Air Force in straight sets of 25-22, 25-20, and 25-22. Deaf Volleyball were awarded a walkover after their opponents, Microspikers, failed to honour the match.
