Kenyan musician Arrow Bwoy and Ugandan socialite Shakib Lutaaya are set to clash in the boxing ring for the highly anticipated Vurugu 2.0 celebrity match.

The event is scheduled for June 20, 2026, at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, with doors opening at 3 pm.

The face-off pits the Digi Digi hitmaker against Shakib, who is well known as the husband of Ugandan businesswoman Zari Hassan.

The match follows months of public challenges from Shakib, who previously called out Kenyan stars like Khaligraph Jones and Willy Paul.

Despite losing a previous bout to Ugandan singer Rickman Grenade in August 2025, Shakib remains confident in his fighting skills.

He has cited international figures like Jake Paul and Cassper Nyovest as inspirations for merging entertainment with combat sports to create profitable spectacles.

Arrow Bwoy accepted the challenge with humor, comparing the opportunity to a meal being delivered to his doorstep.

“I was just scrolling on social media and saw a post that this guy from Uganda, Shakib, was trying to challenge any Kenyan artist to a boxing match. Let me tell you, I have been yearning for this,” the singer said.

The father of two continued by noting that the meal is ready and he is up for the challenge.

He also issued a playful warning to his opponent regarding Zari Hassan, advising her to stay away from the ringside during the fight.

“A message to Shakib, please don’t tag along with your woman. She might faint and we will have a double tragedy. Zari, if you’re hearing this, just send your boy to come and collect the beatings. International beating,” the musician added.

Social media fans are already debating the potential winner as Vurugu 2.0 shapes up to be one of Nairobi’s most discussed entertainment events.

Ticket prices for the showdown range from Sh2,000 for regular access to Sh200,000 for an exclusive package.

VIP and VVIP tickets are retailing at Sh6,000 and Sh20,000 respectively, as organizers prepare for a massive turnout from across East Africa.
