The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) wrapped up a high-impact showcase of its Cine-Mobile Truck at the Africa Forward Summit 2026 in Kasarani, turning heads with a bold push to take cinema directly to the people.

The mobile cinema activation, also featured at the Africa Forward Le Concert and Kenya Village side events, screened content highlighting Kenya’s development milestones, government programmes, and service delivery achievements.

Fitted with a giant LED screen, high-powered sound system, and independent power supply, the Cine-Mobile Truck is designed to transform any open space into a fully functional cinema; effectively breaking the boundaries of traditional film halls.

At the summit, KFCB used the platform to reinforce its mission of bringing Kenyan stories closer to audiences, particularly in grassroots communities where access to cinemas remains limited.

Beyond entertainment, the initiative was presented as a powerful tool for civic education, cultural expression, and youth engagement, aligned with the government’s broader creative economy agenda.

Through its Sinema Mashinani programme, the Board continues to push film screenings into counties and underserved areas, expanding audiences for local productions while supporting homegrown filmmakers.

The Cine-Mobile Truck is also open for booking by organisations and institutions seeking to run public screenings and outreach campaigns.

The showcase attracted participation from key government and sector leaders, including Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya and Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs, alongside stakeholders from tourism, youth affairs, and the creative industry.

As the summit concluded, KFCB’s message was clear; Kenyan cinema is no longer confined to theatres; it is on the move, meeting audiences where they are.
