Real Housewives of Nairobi actress Lisa Christoffersen has partnered with digital influencer marketing platform Wowzi in a move aimed at expanding opportunities for content creators and strengthening the creator economy across Africa.
The partnership was launched on June 16 in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, and will focus on supporting local talent, building commercial opportunities, and mentoring emerging creators.
Explaining the model, Wowzi chief executive officer Mike Otieno described the platform as a digital marketplace connecting brands with influencers.
“We have a mobile app called Wowzi where creators can sign up for free. As you register, the technology picks useful information to build your profile for the brands. Then we are able to connect you to job opportunities,” he said.
Christoffersen said her focus is on using her influence to address youth unemployment.
“I’ve signed a contract today with Wowzi as an A-list content creator, influencer, brand ambassador in order for us to reach out and increase the job opportunities in Africa for the youth. They’ve given over one million job opportunities. We want to increase that to another one million,” she said.
As part of the collaboration, branded outreach tours will be conducted across Kenyan counties to scout talent and engage communities. The initiative will also work with the National Olympic Committee Kenya and the Kenya Lionesses to support youth empowerment programmes.
“We visited an all-girls secondary school called Mahoo Girls Secondary School. About 15 Lionesses were there empowering these young girls, teaching them that what you start, you finish,” she said.
Christoffersen added that the outreach will also promote discipline and discourage teenage pregnancy, encouraging girls to complete their education.
The partnership also includes commercial integration, allowing her books, including A Monkey’s Wedding, to be sold via Wowzi’s platform.
She will also onboard members of her professional team to the marketplace for creatives and service providers.
In return, Wowzi will support her upcoming participation in the Africa Rally Championship in Rwanda in July 2026.
The platform is also backing her nomination for Kenya’s Top Influencer of the Year at the MEMA Awards, where she serves as a board director and brand ambassador.
Christoffersen urged upcoming influencers to focus on consistency and self-driven growth.
“For the young influencers out there that want to grow, reach out to Wowzi, who will give you that platform. But you have to do the work. Create the content,” she said.
Otieno said Wowzi has distributed more than 10 million dollars (about Sh1.29 billion) to African creators, with earnings varying based on influencer tier and performance.
