More than 100 golfers gathered at Kenya Railway Golf Club in Nairobi for a charity tournament supporting children’s education, school nutrition and access to learning materials in underserved communities.
Business leaders, corporate partners and philanthropists took part in the Golf for a Brighter Future Charity Tournament, hosted by the Bridge International Academies Foundation under its #NoChildLeftBehind initiative.
The event raised support for school fee subsidies, learning materials and nutrition programmes, including the foundation’s #OneCupOneFuture school nutrition campaign. Insurance provider Sanlam Allianz was the event’s primary corporate partner.
The foundation operates community schools in 30 of Kenya’s 47 counties, serving more than 22,000 pupils daily. Since Bridge International Academies was launched by NewGlobe Schools in 2008, its network has reached more than 1.2 million children.
The organisation became an independent, registered Kenyan non-profit foundation in 2024.
Speaking during the awards ceremony, Bridge International Academies Foundation Group Managing Director Reuben Mwangi called for greater collaboration across sectors to expand access to education.
“Golf for a Brighter Future is about much more than a day on the golf course,” Mwangi said. “It is about coming together around something that matters deeply to all of us, the future of our children. Achieving quality education for every child requires partnerships, investment and a collective commitment from different sectors of society.”
He said the strong turnout demonstrated the power of collaboration in giving more children the opportunity to learn and thrive.
The foundation uses technology, data and research to guide its operations and improve pupil performance.
