Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines for his extravagant generosity after announcing that 15 fellow church members will each receive a brand-new Toyota Fortuner.
Chivayo announced the latest giveaway on Friday, September 25, saying the 15 beneficiaries had remained committed to the church, upheld its teachings and continued serving faithfully.
According to Chivayo, the 15 brand-new 2026 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD-6 vehicles have a combined value of $1.2 million, approximately Sh155 million.
“Your 15 BRAND-NEW 2026 TOYOTA FORTUNERS 2.4 GD6 have arrived,” Chivayo said in his announcement.
The businessman directed the beneficiaries to collect the vehicles from Enterprise Car Sales on Wednesday through Madzibaba Chipaga.
He also said each of the 15 church members will also receive US$5,000 in cash as a token of appreciation for their commitment and service to the church.
That translates to US$75,000, or approximately Sh9.7 million, for the group.
The latest gesture takes Chivayo’s recent church-related giveaways to another level, coming only days after he announced a separate package for 12 members of the United Family International Church.
In that earlier giveaway, 10 ushers were set to receive Toyota Fortuners alongside US$10,000 each for fuel, while two church leaders were to receive 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 ZX vehicles and US$20,000 each for fuel.
Chivayo has also recently attracted attention for high-value gifts to prominent church figures.
On September 16, he announced a brand-new Rolls-Royce Cullinan facelift and US$250,000 for Zion Christian Church leader Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi as a birthday gift.
A week later, he gifted UFIC founders Emmanuel Makandiwa and Ruth Makandiwa a 2026 Mercedes-Maybach, following a reported KSh129 million donation to their ministry.
For the latest giveaway, Chivayo said the 15 beneficiaries are drawn from Domboshava, Chiweshe and Murehwa.
He described them as members whose dedication and service to the church had earned recognition, congratulating them as they prepared to take home their new vehicles.
The latest announcement has once again put Chivayo’s eye-catching approach to philanthropy in the spotlight.
His continued initiative to combine luxury vehicles with sizeable cash gifts in his support for religious communities, has sparked debate on the motive behind his actions.
