Ciggie Johnson’s paternity dispute has taken another turn after the mother of the 12-year-old girl he has raised for years rejected the results of an earlier DNA test and called for a fresh test.
The development comes days after the Kenyan club host and content creator went public with claims that a DNA test had excluded him as the biological father of the girl he has supported since birth.
The mother has disputed the findings, insisting that Ciggie is the girl’s biological father and questioning the credibility of the test.
During a heated phone conversation aired on the Obinna Show, she claimed that something may have gone wrong with the initial test and called for another test to be conducted at a facility trusted by both parties.
“Ciggie bado ndiye baba mtoto. Hiyo DNA kuna tu vitu zimefanyika hapo zenye sielewi. I’d love us to repeat the DNA test,” she said.
She added that she had expected the initial test to return a positive result because she believed Ciggie was the child’s biological father.
The two parties discussed having the second test conducted at a government facility.
Ciggie also offered Sh100,000 to the mother if the second test confirms that he is the biological father, while proposing that she pay him the same amount if the results again exclude him.
“I will give you KSh100,000 if the child is mine and the DNA comes out positive,” he said.
The latest development follows Ciggie’s revelation on October 3 that the first test had ruled him out as the girl’s biological father.
In a video shared online, Ciggie confronted the mother over the results, saying he had spent 12 years supporting the child, including paying school fees and other expenses.
The revelation sparked debate online, with Kenyans divided over whether Ciggie should continue supporting the girl despite the DNA findings.
Some public figures, including Terence Creative, have urged him not to abandon the child, arguing that she has known him as her father throughout her life.
Ciggie, however, has maintained that the DNA results have changed his position.
The proposed second test could now provide another opportunity for the two sides to establish whether Ciggie is the girl’s biological father, although the outcome remains unknown.
