Trisha Khalid has landed a new television hosting role after being unveiled as Dr Ofweneke’s co-host on the fifth season of dating reality show Hello Mr. Right Kenya.
The actress, model and content creator takes over from Risper Faith, who co-hosted the previous season, marking another step in Khalid’s growing television career.
Khalid was unveiled on Tuesday, October 6, at a press briefing in Nairobi, where she joined Dr Ofweneke and relationship expert Getrude Mungai ahead of the new season.
“I expect more energy and more fun from both of us. I’m about to stress him (Dr Ofweneke) out,” Khalid said after getting the role.
According to Dr Ofweneke, Khalid was selected from a shortlist of about five candidates considered for the position.
“We looked at personality, energy, authenticity and originality, at what each person thinks about love and marriage, and of course we checked the beauty as well. Everything settled on Trisha Khalid,” he told TNX Africa.
Khalid has built her public profile across acting, modelling and digital content. She rose to wider prominence after landing the role of Ruby in the Maisha Magic East telenovela Kovu, earning a Kalasha Awards nomination for Best Lead Actress in 2020.
She later appeared in Citizen TV’s drama series Becky while continuing to build a large following on social media. She was named Female TikToker of the Year at the 2025 Africa Golden Awards.
Her latest role puts her in a different position on television, moving from acting in scripted productions to participating in conversations around relationships and dating.
Hello Mr. Right Kenya premiered in 2018, with Dr Ofweneke serving as the main host.
Previous female co-hosts have included Vera Sidika, Shix Kapienga, Diana Marua and Risper Faith.
The fifth season is scheduled to premiere on October 31, with the auditions episode set to air on October 17.
