Popular Kenyan teacher Priscilla Wanjiku Karanja, popularly known as Tr Cillah, has dismissed speculation that she is set to leave her current school for a new teaching job after visiting Tenri Schools in Embu.
The speculation emerged after a video showing students at Tenri welcoming the educator circulated online, with some social media users interpreting the reception as a sign that she could be joining the institution.
Cillah, however, dismissed the claims, questioning some of the information being shared about her movements and alleged employment details.
She expressed frustration over what she described as repeated false stories about her.
“Hata kama ni kudanganya mnaoverdo,” Cillah said on Instagram.
She also referred to an earlier false claim about her personal life, saying she had previously chosen to remain silent despite misinformation being circulated about her.
“Juzi mmedanganya nilipeleka mbuzi kama mahari nikanyamaza, sasa mnasema ati naenda shule gani na ati nalipwa how much,” she added.
The latest speculation comes as Cillah continues to attract attention for her teaching work and social media activities.
In September, she travelled to Meru County to meet fellow educator Gakii Renee, whose videos highlighting challenges at her school had gained traction online.
Cillah interacted with pupils during the visit and later spoke about the poor learning conditions she had witnessed at the institution.
Her public profile was further boosted by her widely followed social media exchanges with George Ruto.
The playful online exchanges culminated in George visiting Westlands Primary School in August, where he met Cillah and interacted with learners. He said his team intended to support the school with learning materials and football equipment.
Cillah has continued using her platform to highlight issues affecting teachers and learners, particularly school infrastructure and learning conditions.
She recently received further recognition after being named Teacher of the Year at the World Teachers’ Day 2026 Gala Dinner.
Despite the speculation over her next move, Cillah’s latest remarks indicate that her appearance at Tenri Schools should not be taken as confirmation that she is transferring to the institution.
