Kenyan model Anastasia Mwathi has achieved a major milestone on the global stage after finishing as the first runner-up at the Miss Universal Woman 2026 pageant.
The ultimate crown went to Marissol Savagin of Brazil, who took home the international title in a competitive grand final that featured delegates from across the globe, including finalists from China, Venezuela, and Cambodia.
The Kitui-born model’s impressive finish marks another key step in her rising career within the modeling and pageantry industry.
Mwathi, who is 22 years old and stands 174 centimeters tall, is represented by Xquisite Models and previously captured the Face of Nairobi title.
She has been an active figure in Kenya’s beauty scene, notably featuring in the 2024 Miss Universe Kenya lineup after navigating a rigorous selection process chosen from over 326 virtual entries.
The Miss Universal Woman pageant positions itself as a modern platform designed to empower women, build self-confidence, and amplify their positive impact on society.
Embracing inclusivity, the competition welcomes delegates regardless of marital or parental status and highlights community projects alongside beauty and leadership.
Held in late September through early October 2026, the multi-week international edition tested contestants across preliminary challenges, cultural showcases, evening wear presentations, and personal advocacy interviews.
Mwathi’s top-two finish continues a growing trend of Kenyan beauty ambassadors securing major placements in premier international pageants.
