A police officer has been charged before a Kibera court with stealing a motor vehicle and obtaining money by false pretences in a case linked to the theft of the famous Toyota Vitz nicknamed “Pinky Hulk”.

Willis Omondi Onduru denied charges of stealing a motor vehicle and obtaining Sh230,000 by false pretences when he appeared before the Kibera Law Courts.

Onduru faced two counts, including stealing a motor vehicle contrary to Section 278(A) of the Penal Code and obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Section 317 of the Penal Code.

In the second count, the officer is accused of obtaining Sh230,000 from Mohamed Ahmed Farah with intent to defraud him by falsely claiming he could sell him a white Toyota Vitz, a fact he allegedly knew to be false.

The officer was arrested on October 2, 2026, at Maji House following a months-long investigation by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kilimani.

The investigation began after the theft of a light-green Toyota Vitz belonging to Phoebe Atieno Otieno on August 15, 2026.

The famous ‘Pinky Hulk’ Toyota vitz that is alleged to have been stolen by a police officer, Willis Omondi Onduru, and repainted from light green to white, fitted with new plates and sold to Mohamed Ahmed Farah pictured on September 23, 2026 at Kilimani police station.

Otieno had reportedly parked the vehicle, registration number KBL 732Q, outside the RFUEA grounds along Ngong Road while attending a rugby match. The car, popularly known as “Pinky Hulk”, attracted widespread attention on social media following its disappearance.

During the search, Otieno and a friend reportedly traced the vehicle to Facebook Marketplace, where it had been advertised for sale.

Although the car had allegedly been repainted from light green to white and fitted with new registration plates bearing the number KBA 625M, the two reportedly identified it through its distinctive custom features.

Together with other friends, they posed as prospective buyers and arranged to meet the seller at Pangani Shopping Centre on September 17, 2026.

With the assistance of officers from Kilimani Police Station, they reportedly organised a staged road test during which the seller was arrested and the vehicle recovered.

The recovery marked a breakthrough in the investigation into the theft of the vehicle, which had generated significant public interest online.

Onduru was ordered to deposit a bond of Sh1 million to secure his release.

The case will be mentioned on November 4, 2026.
