American journalist deported from Kenya to Dubai sues, demands return

An American freelance journalist who was deported from Kenya to Dubai instead of her home country has sued the government, seeking to have her removal declared illegal and to be allowed back into the country.

Ms Margot Kiser Jones, who frequently attended court during much of the trial of controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie over deaths linked to Shakahola Forest, was declared a prohibited immigrant on October 9, 2025.
