Ghanaian actor, comedian and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto has died after collapsing during a live radio discussion at Owass Radio in Tarkwa, in Ghana’s Western Region.
The 51-year-old reportedly fell ill during a panel discussion on the morning of Thursday, October 22, 2026, and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His death was confirmed by Kirk Mensah, the Western Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who said Dzokoto had collapsed while participating in the programme.
“Our comrade Kwame Dzokoto of the Efiewura and Edziban fame on a panel discussion on Owass Radio in Tarkwa collapsed and pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” Mensah said.
Footage from the live broadcast reportedly showed Dzokoto appearing to struggle before the camera became shaky and the transmission was cut off.
Dzokoto was a familiar face in Ghanaian entertainment, best known for playing Judge Koboo in the popular television comedy series Efiewura.
He also hosted Edziban, a TV3 programme that explored Ghanaian cuisine, food culture and local eateries, introducing audiences to the country’s culinary traditions.
His career extended to radio, where he worked as a presenter at Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi.
Beyond entertainment and broadcasting, Dzokoto ventured into politics, contesting the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the NDC ticket during Ghana’s 2016 general election.
His death comes weeks after he dismissed rumours of his demise in September 2026. During an interview at the time, he spoke about his health challenges, revealing that he was recovering from high blood pressure and diabetes.
Friends and colleagues are mourning his death, remembering him for his contributions to Ghana’s entertainment industry and broadcasting.
